Bates Accessories, Inc. is an established US-based manufacturer and distributor of fabric and leather belts, bags, wallets and sandals that are sold under several brands worldwide. The company has a unique patented technology that allows to efficiently customize individual products in small quantities rather than to produce them in large batches. An existing online store was generating a minimal volume of orders and was not flexible enough to provide for a good user experience, especially as it related to product customization. PulsarFour engaged to fully re-design the ecommerce store, to make it user-centric, to convey the brand’s premium quality, to build a custom product configurator, and to fully implement and support the solution both from the technology as well as a marketing dimension.


PulsarFour chose the Magento CE platform for its client’s ecommerce solution. The new Thomas Bates ™ online store fully reflects the true brand of the client, effectively positions it as a unique “Made in USA” product manufacturer. The store has a fully automated custom product configurator that allows not only to select product variations but also to upload own artwork to be printed on belts and other products. The site is SEO-friendly, responsive, and has numerous shopper-friendly features such as product recommendations, reviews, advanced filtering, and a robust checkout process.
