ABOUT THE EXPEDITION

The team of international explorers will drive across North, Central and South America in three off-road trucks, in three one-month stages, over three consecutive years. The expedition starts in the Northern tip of Alaska, in summer of 2015, and finish in Cape Horn, in 2017. We will travel across 16 countries, across two continents and will cover tens of thousands of miles meeting hundreds of people along the way. This is an adventure to discover and document the innovative use of technology across Americas today. From telemedicine to fishing, from farming to preserving our environment, from online education to saving human lives—we will look out for and interview people who build and support sustainable communities and who help make our world a better place through technology.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT

As humans, we define ourselves by our ability to overcome the impossible. We live for these moments–break barriers, reach for the impossible, survive, and reach for summits. While technological advances around us make things easier, closer and easily reachable, at heart, we all remain pioneers. In our Pan-American quest, we will seek to answer these fundamental questions: how can we make the world better through technology? As it propagates and reaches the most remote places, what are the new and innovative applications of technology to improve the lives of people? What is the next “big” thing looming ahead of us that may fundamentally change the way we live and interact with each other and with our environment?

summer – fall 2015

The first stage of expedition will cover the route from the tip of North America in Alaska through Canada to San Francisco Bay Area. We will:

  • Explore vast natural lands and life of people in Alaskan, Canadian and the Continental US communities.
  • Get a peek into the technological changes that are shaping oil, mining and fishing industries of the North.
  • Visit the famous Gold Rush places in Yukon territory, film and document modern day life there.
  • Visit the remote Canadian villages and towns to see how people in them stay connected with the outside world.
  • Explore urban life of Vancouver and Seattle and take a look at the globalization changes that impact these communities.
  • Traverse along the Pacific Coast of North America seeking to find stories of people using technology to preserve and improve their environment.
  • Examine the initial settlements and colonies along the Pacific Coast, seek authentic narratives and true life stories of descendants of American immigrants.
  • Take a closer look at the people of the Silicon Valley, innovators and entrepreneurs who shape the technological advances of tomorrow to understand their vision of our joint future.
  • Provide live online coverage of our expedition, produce a documentary about the adventure and publish it online.

Life adventure partners

If you are interested in supporting our expedition, there are several partner and sponsor options available:

  • Technology partnership – our vehicles require off-road, communications and navigation equipment and services. We will put our trucks through extreme durability and survival tests and will provide valuable reviews and publicity for your brands through our overlanding experience sharing.
  • Media sponsorship – we would extensively document the expedition, will blog and make daily online reports from our trips and engage with our audiences making it truly interactive and real time global experience. We seek partnerships with people and companies to help us film, photograph and cover the adventure in the online and off-line media.
